Virtual issues collect together the most important papers on substantive topics from the archives of Diametros. Bioethics is the interdisciplinary field of research where many specialists, including physicians, sociologists, and lawyers have a say. However, philosophers who apply moral theories to solve ethical problems generated by medical technology are doing the most important part of bioethics. The present virtual issue constitutes such a philosophical contribution to bioethics.
