Abstract

In this article, Putnam’s “Twin Earth” thought experiment is considered from the point of view of methodology. An analysis of the experiment reveals assumptions that are essential for Putman, but are not explicitly expressed by him, and which require justification. This ultimately weakens the force of the whole argument.

Ryszard Philipp

Ryszard Philipp, dr jest absolwentem mikroelektroniki w Uniwersytecie Technicznym w Hamburgu (1997) oraz filozofii w Uniwersytecie Jagiellońskim (2003). W 2007r uzyskał stopień doktora nauk humanistycznych na Wydziale Filozoficznym UJ. Aktualnie jest adiunktem w Zakładzie Filozofii AWF w Krakowie. Zajmuje się filozofią umysłu, w szczególności problemem wolności, kognitywistyką, filozofią języka, a także filozofią transcendentalną Kanta i kontynuatorów.
