Die Ideenschau im Dialog Phaidros (246d-249d)
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article is a detailed analysis of a fragment of the Phaedrus, where Plato presents his understanding of ideas, their object, their mode of existence, and their cognition (246d-249d). The author attempts to read the fragment in a way that is faithful to the text itself. Her goal is not to confront it with a series of interpretations, and she makes limited use of other dialogues. The purpose of the analysis is primarily to interpret the mythological Socratic language, to consider terminology, to explain concepts (e.g. eidos, theoria, anamnesis, episteme, philosophia), and to attempt to understand the famous ousia ontos ousa.
