The purpose of the lectures found on this page is not so much the popularization of philosophy as general
philosophical education - to facilitate rapid two-way communication between a narrow group of representatives
of various philosophical disciplines and broad circles of persons interested in them.
Each lecture received by us will be placed on our site within a specified time, agreed upon with the author.
Several days prior to making the lecture available, information about it will be distributed to the Polish philosophical
community, and in particular to all subscribers and cooperators of Diametros. During the week following the announcement
of the lecture, our readers will have an opportunity to send their questions and comments. These remarks, together with the
text of the lecture itself and an abstract, will be placed in the Current lectures
section of our site and will also be sent to the author of the lecture, who will have occasion to reply to them either individually
or in a final summary. After this "discussion period" has ended, the text of the lecture, together with the authorÂ’s eventual modifications
and additions, will be moved to the Lecture archive, section.
In addition to the above, we will give all authors the opportunity to publish the text of their lectures in pdf format in our quarterly
Internet journal, Diametros, in the "Lecture" section created especially for this purpose. Obviously, authors may decline to accept this offer;
they may publish their lecture elsewhere, leaving only the draft in our archive. They may also choose to remove their text from our archive
(after at least one year has elapsed). It is our hope, however, that the majority our authors will not make use of this right but will choose to leave
their text in our archive permanently. Thanks to this, the lectures archived by us will in time form complete thematic cycles that will prove
invaluable to all persons studying philosophy or interested in it.
