Instytucje i organizacje

ADEC – „The Association for Death Education and Counseling®, The Thanatology Association®, is one of the oldest interdisciplinary organizations in the field of dying, death and bereavement. Its nearly 2,000 members include a wide array of mental and medical health personnel, educators, clergy, funeral directors and volunteers”.

Compassion & Choices – „Compassion & Choices is the leading nonprofit organization committed to helping everyone have the best death possible. We offer free counseling, planning resources, referrals and guidance, and across the nation we work to protect and expand options at the end of life”.

Care Not Killing – „Care Not Killing is a UK-based alliance of individuals and organisations which brings together disability and human rights groups, healthcare providers, and faith-based bodies, with the aims of:

  1. promoting more and better palliative care;
  2. ensuring that existing laws against euthanasia and assisted suicide are not weakened or repealed;
  3. influencing the balance of public opinion against any further weakening of the law”.

Death with Dignity National Center – „The mission of the Death with Dignity National Center is to promote Death with Dignity laws based on our model legislation, the Oregon Death with Dignity Act, both to provide an option for dying individuals and to stimulate nationwide improvements in end-of-life care”.

DIGNITAS – „«DIGNITAS – To live with dignity - to die with dignity» is an association in accordance with Swiss law and was founded on 17 May 1998 at Forch (near Zurich). The organisation, which pursues no commercial interests whatsoever, has in accordance with its constitution the objective of ensuring a life and a death with dignity for its members and of allowing other people to benefit from these values”.

Dying with Dignity Canada – „We are a national, member-based charity committed to helping people achieve quality in dying. We help people understand all end-of-life options and work for choice in dying for all Canadians”.

Dying Matters Coalition – „In 2009, the National Council for Palliative Care (NCPC) set up the Dying Matters Coalition to promote public awareness of dying, death and bereavement. It is chaired by Professor Mayur Lakhani, who is a practising GP. The work of the Coalition is supported by NCPC’s Board of Trustees”.

End-of-life Law and Policy in Canada – „«End-of-life Law and Policy in Canada» is a website designed to serve as a source of information for the –public, healthcare providers, the media, and policy-makers. On this site, we provide information on advance directives, potentially life-shortening symptom relief, the withholding and withdrawal of potentially life-sustaining treatment, terminal sedation, assisted suicide, and euthanasia. Our goal is to contribute to understanding of and participation in public policy debates about some of the most pressing issues of our time – how ought we to care for the dying”.

Good Life, Good Death, Good Grief – „Good Life, Good Death, Good Grief is an Alliance of organisations and individuals that want to work together to:

  • Raise public awareness of ways of dealing with death, dying and bereavement
  • Promote community involvement in death, dying and bereavement”.

World Federation of Right to Die Societies – „The World Federation of Right to Die Societies, founded in 1980, consists of 49 right to die organizations from 26 countries. The Federation provides an international link for organizations working to secure or protect the rights of individuals to self-determination at the end of their lives”.
