- The Animal
Legal & Historical Center - Â a clearinghouse for information on
animal-related topics. It is based at Michigan State University College of Law.
The Center’s site offers access to over thousand full text cases and statutes
from different countries.
- Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics
– aims to encourage research into, and improve public debate on, the issues
surrounding animal-related ethics. The Centre’s research projects include the
philosophical and theological foundations of animal ethics; an exploration of
the latest scientific work on the complexity of animal awareness and practical
issues of international importance to animal ethics.
- The International Institute for
Animal Law – The Institute is a non-profit organization that has been
established to encourage, at the international level, the development of legal
scholarship and advocacy skills on behalf of animals. The Institute’s site
offers huge animal law and animal rights bibliography.
- The Animals and
Society Institute – an independent research and educational organization
that seeks to advance institutional change for animals by helping to establish
the moral and legal rights fundamental to a just society. The ASI publish two
journals: Society and Animals Journal and Journal of Applied Animal Welfare
Science.
- Minding
Animals International – MAI aims to enable discourse between the various
interests within the field of environmentalism, animal rights, wildlife
protection, animal welfare and animal justice that will improve the status of
non-human animals and alleviate nonhuman animal exploitation. As such,
MAI facilitates research in Animal Studies as a conduit of non-governmental
politics and action.
